Rose Hill

| June 12, 2026 11:48 AM

Rose Hill, 77, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2026, with her three daughters by her side. She was born April 7, 1949, in Ephrata, Wash. to Rose and Charles Freestone. She spent her childhood in Ephrata, Wash. and graduated from Ephrata High School in 1967. Post-graduation, Rose attended Big Bend Community College.

Rose settled in Moses Lake with Greg Hill where they raised a family. She was a very involved, loving mother, attending every dance recital, sport event, play and concert. When she was not at home spending time with her children, she held a variety of jobs including the Grant County Courthouse, World Book Encyclopedia and Skaug Brothers, and at one point opened and operated her own store, Rose’s Sportswear and Novelty. Beginning in 1996 she worked for the Moses Lake School District as a school bus driver, where she remained for nearly two decades, retiring in 2015. Rose was an avid golfer, a familiar face at the Moses Lake Golf and Country Club and Moses Pointe. Her competitive spirit and skill on the green earned her multiple club championships over the years. She also enjoyed quilting, reading, and gardening, but above all, she loved spending time with her family including her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Rose is survived by her three daughters Sara Coiley, Eliza Fish and Anita Inks; her eight grandchildren; and her three great-grandchildren, with another great-grandchild on the way. She also leaves behind her siblings Jon Freestone, Dave Freestone, Charlie Freestone and Susan Schmaltz. She is preceded in death by her parentsCharles and Rose Freestone and her oldest sister Janet Land.

The family extends its deepest gratitude to the exceptional caregivers at Lakeshore West Residential Care for the profound care, love, and kindness they showed to Rose during her final years.
