Notice of Public Hearings & Determination of Non-Significance Othello Planning Commission & Othello City Council Zoning Update 2026 – Allowing New Housing in Existing Buildings, Allowing Child Care, and Prohibiting Family Burial Grounds Notice is hereby given that the City of Othello will hold public hearings to discuss amending the following sections of the Othello Municipal Code (OMC) to comply with state laws allowing new housing in existing buildings and allowing child care in most zones, and prohibiting family burial grounds: · OMC 17.20 Residential Zones · OMC 17.30 Commercial Zones · OMC 17.56 General Provisions · OMC 17.61 Off-Street Parking · Adding a new section to OMC 14.04 Building Codes The hearings will be held: · At the Planning Commission meeting, Mon. Notice of Application & Proposed Mitigated Determination of Non-Significance - Date of Notice:May 27, 2026, Notice is hereby given that a Major Subdivision application and SEPA Checklist was received by Grant County on May 7, 2026 from Nelli Brown. Contact: (Columbia Northwest Engineering 249 N Elder St. Moses Lake, WA 98837), was found to be technically complete on May 29, 2026. [Grant County expects to issue a Mitigated Determination of Non-Significance for this proposal and the Optional DNS Process in WAC 197-11-355 is being used.] This proposal may include mitigation measures under applicable codes, and the project review process may incorporate or require mitigation measures regardless of whether an EIS is prepared. This may be the only opportunity to comment on the environmental impacts of the proposal and the proposed mitigation measures. Each lot will be intended to support a single-family residence and will be approximately one (1) acre in size The property is current vacant of development and has served as a fruit orchard.
