Basin Athletes place in the state tournament

MOSES LAKE — Athletes from around the Columbia Basin competed in the track and field state championships in Yakima and Tacoma over the weekend. Below is a list of each of the local competitors from over the weekend.


Almira/Coulee-Hartline 

Boys

Brady Roberts, a senior from ACH, took first in long jump with a length of 21’ 8.5” and first in triple jump with a length of 47’ 4.25”. 


Ephrata 

Boys 

Caleb Fitts, a sophomore for the Tigers, took sixth in the 800m with a time of 1:55.24. 

Tigers senior Maddax Iverson took seventh in the 300m hurdles with a time of 40.35. 

The 4x400 relay team of Maddax Iverson, Caleb Fitts, Cooper Black and Andy Addink took 12th in the prelims with a time of 3:28.22. 


Lind-Ritzville 

Boys 

Damon Schilling, a senior from the Broncos, took fifth in the 100m with a time of 11.09 and second in the 200m with a time of 21.97.  

Broncos junior Brett Cresse took fifth in long jump with a length of 20’ 4.75”. 

The relay team of Leland Bowman, Conner O’Brien, Archer Killian and Damon Schilling took 13th in the 4x100 prelims with a time of 45.33 and 11 in the 4x400 prelims with a time of 3:36.73. 

Jerod Harder, a senior for Lind-Ritzville, took 11th in shot put with a throw of 42’ 6”. 

Broncos sophomore Archer Killian took 14th in shot put with a throw of 41’ 10.5”. 

Girls 

The 4x400 relay team of Allesandra Mendez, Saige Galbreath, Harper Lobe and Zoe Galbreath took 11th in the prelims with a time of 4:31.11. 

Saige Galbreath, a Lind-Ritzville senior, took third in shot put with a throw of 35’ 8.25”. 

Broncos senior Zoe Galbreath took fourth in pole vault with a height of 9’ and 15th in shot put with a throw of 30’ 6”. 


Moses Lake Christian Academy/Covenant Christian School 

Boys 

Ethan Ramsey, MLCA/CCS senior, took first in the 100m ambulatory with a time of 12.84, first in the 200m ambulatory with a time of 25.75, first in ambulatory shot put with a throw of 29’ 11” and first in ambulatory javelin with a throw of 98’ 9”. 

Ben Bishop, a Lions junior, took tenth in the 400m prelims with a time of 53.01, 14th in the 1600m finals with a time of 5:08.22 and 15th in the 3200m finals with a time of 11:03.2. 

Lions senior James Robertson took fifth in shot put with a throw of 43’ 2.5”, eighth in javelin with a throw of 145’ 1” and 17th in discus with a throw of 84’ 11”. 

Girls 

The relay team of Brynlynn King, Aspyn Masset, Naomi Jorgensen and Amelia Shopbell took 11th in the 4x400 prelims with a time of 4:38.67. 

Brynlynn King, a senior from the Lions, took ninth in the 800m prelims, seventh in the 1600m finals with a time of 5:45.28 and eighth in the 3200m finals with a time of 12:36.57. 

MLCA/CCS junior Amelia Shopbell took sixth in javelin with a throw of 102’ 9”. 


Moses Lake High School 

Boys 

Brady Jay, a senior for the Mavericks, took 10th in the 200m prelims with a time of 22.35. 

Moses Lake senior Liam O’Shea took 19th in the 800m prelims with a time of 1:57.95. 

Colton Lucero, an MLHS junior, took 15th in the 3200m with a time of 10:03.99. 

The 4x100 relay team of Isaac Gordon, Isaac Legault, Elijah Burns and Brady Jay took third with a time of 41.96. 

Mavs junior Taggart Rathbun took 12th in discus with a throw of 144’ 4”. 

Harrison Holt, a junior from the Mavs, took 15th in high jump with a leap of 6’ 1”. 

Dawson Stuart, a Moses Lake sophomore, took 19th in high jump with a leap of 6’ 1”. 

Mavs junior Lewis Eckenberg took sixth in long jump with a leap of 21’ 9” and 10th in the triple jump with a length of 42’ 5.5”. 

Girls 

Lindsey Davis, a junior from the Mavs, took 18th in the 100m prelims with a time of 12.64 and 23rd in the 200m prelims with a time of 26.09. 

The relay team of Kamery Char, Lindsey Davis, Miciah Higley and Addy Burns took 11th in the 4x100 relay prelims with a time of 49.35 and 14th in the 4x200 relay prelims with a time of 1:44.86. 

MLHS senior Addy Burns took fifth in high jump with a height of 5’ 2”. 

Baylee Bates, a senior from the Mavs, took 13th in the triple jump with a length of 33’ 4”. 

 

Othello 

Boys 

Jonah Hahn, a junior from the Huskies, took 11th in the 110m hurdles with a time of 15.51. 

Huskies senior Rylee Hilmes took 11th in javelin with a throw of 156’ 1” and 13th in pole vault with a leap of 12’. 

Othello junior George Gentry tied for fifth in high jump with a leap of 6’. 

Girls 

Abby Douglas, an Othello senior, took ninth in the 100m prelims with a time of 12.72 and seventh in the 200m finals with a time of 25.76. 


Quincy 

Girls 

Brielle Baughman from the Jackrabbits took 20th in the 100m prelims with a time of 13.21. 


Royal 

Boys 

Troy McCullough, a sophomore from Royal, took 12th in the 400m prelims with a time of 52.15.  

Royal sophomore Brycen Fitzhugh took 11th in the 300m hurdles prelims with a time of 42.27. 

The 4x400 relay team of Troy McCullough, Brycen Fitzhugh, Dax Jenks and Esteban Torres took 11th in the prelims with a time of 3:34.35. 

Manny Ruvalcaba a junior from the Knights, tied for fourth in high jump with a leap of 5’ 10”. 

Girls 

The 4x400 relay team of Rebecca Carlson, Lauren Wardenaar, Maggie Frank and Justine Fitzhugh took eighth with a time of 4:21.66. 

Knights junior Maggie Frank took 13th in javelin with a throw of 101’ 3”. 

Royal freshman Justine Fitzhugh took seventh in the triple jump with a leap of 35’ 1.5”. 

 

Soap Lake 

Boys 

The Eagles 4x400 relay team of Lenny Campos, Tyler Hart, Ashton Halsey and Andre Jimenez took 15th in the prelims. 

Girls 

Nataleigh Wynn, a freshman from the Eagles, took 11th in shot put with a throw of 32’ 5.5”. 

Soap Lake senior Brooke Dana took 12th in discus with a throw of 87’ 11”. 


Wahluke 

Boys 

Kobe Corrales, a sophomore from Wahluke, took fifth place in the triple jump with a length of 43’ 5.5”.
