Joe Harris named new Quincy administrator

QUINCY — Joe Harris has been hired as the new Quincy city administrator, pending approval by the Quincy City Council. City officials announced the selection in a media release Thursday. 

Council members will consider whether or not to confirm Harris at its Aug. 4 meeting. If the appointment is approved, Harris will start work Aug. 17. 

Harris is the former Mattawa Police Chief and a former Quincy Police Department officer. He served in the US Marine Corps from 1993 to 2001. He ran He received a doctorate in public administration. He has lived in the Quincy area for 20 years. 

“I am excited for the opportunity to give back to our community and keep Quincy the great community it is,” Harris said.
