Man injured after being run over by Grant PUD truck near Moses Lake
A 61-year-old man was injured Monday morning after he was run over by a Grant County Public Utility District maintenance truck on State Route 17. The condition of the man has not been released and Grant County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the matter.

MOSES LAKE — A 61-year-old man was injured Monday morning after being run over by a Grant County Public Utility District maintenance truck along a power line service road northwest of Moses Lake, according to a statement from Grant County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the GCSO, the Grant PUD employee was spraying weeds along the transmission line corridor near State Route 17 when the truck drove over a tarp under which the man was lying. The driver reportedly believed the tarp was debris that had blown into the area, which is common along the highway corridor.
The employee felt a bump, heard the man call out, immediately stopped the vehicle, called 911 and remained with the injured man until emergency responders arrived, according to Grant PUD.
The injured man was transported to Samaritan Healthcare for treatment. His condition has not been released.
The Grant County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident with no further information available to the public until the deputy’s report is complete. Grant PUD said it is fully cooperating while also conducting its own internal investigation, according to a statement.
