CBCCA unveils 2026-27 concert season

MOSES LAKE — The Central Basin Community Concert Association has released its concert schedule for 2026-27.

The season will begin with a CBCCA favorite, the Gonzaga Symphony Orchestra, on Oct. 11. 

“The Gonzaga Symphony Orchestra has a long tradition as one of the finest student/community orchestras in the region and its repertoire contains some of the most demanding pieces in orchestral music,” the CBCCA wrote on its website.

The orchestra is conducted by Kevin Hekmatpanah and past concerts brought between 60 and 80 performers, one of the largest numbers ever to take the stage at the Wallenstien Theater.

On Oct. 29, the CBCCA will welcome father and son duo Terry and Nick Davies, bringing their show “Piano Man: Generations.” The two will take the audience on a high-octane, emotionally-charged journey through the music of two of the great piano men of our time, Elton John and Billy Joel. The Davieses are accompanied by a live band of elite musicians, according to the Piano Men website.

The December concert has not yet been announced, according to the CBCCA website. Following that, the concert season will take a hiatus until March 11, when CBCCA will present Americana Women.

Americana Women consists of four female multi-instrumentalists on banjo, guitar and fiddle, celebrating American folk music from its earliest roots to its presence in country, rock and folk music, according to the CBCCA website.

The last show in the current lineup will be April 24, when CBCCA will welcome Solomon Jaye and his “Tap into Soul.” Jaye brings American classic hits like James Brown’s “I Feel Good” and more recent fare like Bruno Mars’ “Uptown Funk” to life with fancy footwork and instrumental solos, according to Jaye’s promotional materials.

Since the 1950s, the Central Basin Community Concert Association has brought high-quality musical performances to Moses Lake. The concerts are all held at the Wallenstien Theater at Big Bend Community College. Tickets for an individual concert are $30, but there are discounts available for students, families and music students and teachers.
