Second suspect in Othello drive-by shooting apprehended
OTHELLO — A second man sought in connection with a drive-by shooting in Othello has been arrested.
Angel Alvarez, 22, Othello was found and arrested in Pasco, said Adams County Sheriff Dale Wagner in a media release. Alvarez has been booked on suspicion of first-degree assault, drive-by shooting and possession of a stolen vehicle.
Alvarez’s arrest follows Monday’s arrest of Gustavo Pineda-Feliciano, Othello; both were sought in connection with a shooting on West Angel Street west of Othello July 11. One person sustained a gunshot injury to the face and was transported to an out of area hospital for further treatment.
Wagner told the Columbia Basin Herald in a separate interview that the shooting appears to be gang related.
Sheriff’s office investigators served two search warrants on residences in the Edson Tracts area south of Othello early Monday morning. Pineda-Feliciano was arrested near his residence Monday night.
“Although both suspects are now in custody, this investigation remains active and detectives continue to follow up on leads and gather additional evidence,” Wagner said. “Additional charges or arrests may be forthcoming as the investigation progresses.”
