Man jumps from second-floor apartment, arrested on warrants
MOSES LAKE — A Moses Lake man was arrested early Saturday morning after allegedly jumping from a second-floor apartment window and fleeing police during the investigation of a reported domestic dispute, according to Moses Lake Police Dept.
According to a department press release, officers responded to a report of a domestic dispute involving a possible stabbing on Monroe Street at about 12:30 a.m. Saturday. While officers were investigating, a highly intoxicated man reportedly jumped from a second-story window and ran from the scene.
The man was later identified as Juan Baeza Escobedo, 26, of Moses Lake. Police said an officer quickly caught up with him and took him into custody.
Authorities discovered Baeza Escobedo had two outstanding misdemeanor warrants for his arrest — one for DUI and one for fourth-degree assault. He was additionally booked on charges of obstructing law enforcement.
Police said the original report of a stabbing was determined to be unfounded, and no one had been injured.
According to the Grant County Jail roster, Baeza Escobedo was booked into the Grant County Jail on July 11 on the two district court warrants and the obstructing law enforcement charge.
