MOSES LAKE — A Ouija board led to an arrest in a vehicle break-in Friday afternoon, according to a statement from the Moses Lake Police Department.

Tasha Marie Wehrli, 36, was arrested and booked into Grant County Jail on suspicion of second-degree vehicle prowl, third-degree theft, possession of a legend drug, third-degree malicious mischief and resisting arrest, according to the MLPD statement.

Police responded Friday afternoon to a report of a vehicle prowl in the 1100 lock of East Nelson Road, according to the MLPD statement. The stereo had been ripped from the dashboard; residence keys and a couple of prescription medications had been taken, as well as a Ouija board.

Earlier that day, MLPD Officer Isaac Taylor had contacted a woman, later identified as Wehrli, who was carrying a Ouija board in a bag, according to the statement. He remembered the board and located Wehrli in the area of Pioneer Way and Riviera Avenue. The stolen items, including the Ouija board, were found in Wehrli’s possession. The items were returned to their owner, according to the MLPD.

Wehrli had previously been arrested in April on a Grant County Superior Court warrant, according to Columbia Basin Herald archives.
