Five injured in vehicle rollover near Ephrata
EPHRATA — A woman was airlifted to Confluence Health-North Central Washington Hospital after the car she was riding in rolled about five miles south of Ephrata Wednesday morning.
Leticia Pimentel, 44, was one of five people in the vehicle; the other four were transported to Samaritan Hospital, according to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol. She was not wearing a seatbelt, and neither were two other passengers, Blanca Pimentel, 44, and Gloria Ornelas, 66, Moses Lake. Ramiro Gomez Gonzalez, 51, Moses Lake, the driver, and Edgar Lopez Salvador, 32, Moses Lake, another passenger, were wearing seatbelts.
The van Gomez Gonzalez was driving suffered a mechanical failure and ran onto the shoulder, rolling and coming to rest on its wheels, the WSP memo said. Gomez Gonzalez was cited for driving without a valid driver’s license and no vehicle insurance.
