Two arrested on narcotics charges after search of Moses Lake residence
MOSES LAKE — Two Moses Lake men were arrested and booked into the Grant County Jail on suspicion of distributing narcotics following the search of a residence on Kathy Drive in Moses Lake Thursday. Moses Lake Police Department Captain Jeff Sursely said the search turned up evidence that residents of the house may have been involved in illicit food stamp transactions.
“The search warrant culminated the drug and gun portion (of the investigation),” Sursely said. “The potential fraud (investigation) is ongoing.”
Sergio Jiron, 35, was booked on suspicion of possession or delivery of narcotics and trafficking food stamps, according to Grant County Jail records. Alberto Mendoza, 24, was charged with the possession or delivery of narcotics. A third person was released pending fraud charges, Sursely said in a press release.
Officers from the MLPD street crimes unit and Moses Lake Tactical Response Team found nine firearms and an undisclosed amount of cocaine in the residence, the press release said.
