COLUMBIA BASIN — We’re swinging into February with lots to do in the Basin. Here’s a little of what’s happening this month.
Jan. 30
Winter Scene in Charcoal
Learn the techniques of working with charcoal while bringing a snowy winter landscape to life. Class is for ages 14 and older. $21 per person. 2-3:30 p.m. at Moses Lake Museum & Art Center, 401 S., Balsam St. Info: 509-764-3830.
Spooky Movie Night

Sweethearts Market

Ephrata FFA Alumni and Supporters Silent Auction
Join Future Farmers of America for a Vegas-themed silent auction. Dinner by A-Crew Catering. All proceeds go toward FFA sponsorships and student scholarships. Feb. 2
Axolotl Hide and Seek
Children, tweens and teens are invited to celebrate the National Day of the Mexican Axolotl, observed on Feb. 1, and find tiny axolotls hidden around the library for a prize. There will also be an axolotl-themed craft. 4-5:30 p.m. at Moses Lake Library, 418 E. Fifth Ave. Info: 509-765-3489.

Seahawks Paint Night
Fan paint night with Rustic Girl Painting to celebrate the Super Bowl-bound Seahawks. Painters are encouraged to wear 12th man gear. Prizes are given for the best team spirit. Moses Lake Non-Profit Meetup
All Moses Lake non-profits and service organizations are welcome. Share what your organization is all about, what your current needs are and network with other local nonprofits. An evening with Derek Sheffield
Join Washington’s Poet Laureate for a live reading of his work, followed by an open question-and-answer session where you can explore his creative process, inspirations, and the role poetry plays in our communities. Free Family Movie

Tacos for Tuition
Help students get a Catholic education by supporting the Fr. Kerr Scholarship Fund. Dinner by Maggie’s Kitchen, plus live entertainment, games and activities. Proceeds enable students with financial need to attend St. Rose of Lima Catholic School. St. Rose is open to students of all faiths and does not turn students away based on ability to pay. Autism Movie Day: ‘GOAT’
Autism-friendly screening of the animated film “GOAT,” the story of a small goat who gets a chance to pursue big dreams. Checkered Chunky Blanket Workshop
Learn how to create a checkered chunky blanket, plus how to make and add embellishments.
