MOSES LAKE — Two Moses Lake Fire Department officers were recognized for recent promotions with a longstanding fire service tradition at the Moses Lake City Council meeting Tuesday. Newly promoted Captain Lynn Dodd and Lieutenant Mike Miner each received the badges for their new offices from members of their families.

“Captain Dodd has spent the last several years as a lieutenant with (MLFD) working very hard to improve how we function as a fire department,” said MLFD Chief Art Perillo. “But she’s also taken on additional responsibility, being the medical services officer for (the department) since that position was reduced this last budget year. She’s been taking on those responsibilities for the last six or seven months, and she’d done a great job moving the organization forwards as it pertains to EMS.”

Dodd received her new badge from her son Michael.

Miner was promoted to fill the lieutenant position.

“Mike has been a firefighter with (MLFD) for a number of years, and most recently he’s taken on the responsibility of being the representative for Moses Lake Fire Department’s hazmat team. He’s working really hard to get all of our folks trained and get everybody situated,” Perillo said.
