Basin district basketball sees busy weekend

MOSES LAKE — The remaining basin basketball teams finished their district play over the weekend, and many are now preparing for state playoffs. The results of some games were not available at the time of publication. Additional coverage will be featured in the Tuesday and Wednesday editions of the Columbia Basin Herald.
Almira/Coulee-Hartline
The ACH Warriors boys team traveled to Reardan on Saturday to face DeSales to decide seeding for the state tournament. Both teams were guaranteed a slot at state.
The ACH Warriors girls team traveled to Reardan on Saturday to face fellow No. 1-seeded Garfield-Palouse. Both teams were guaranteed a state berth and played for tournament seeding.
Lind-Ritzville
The LRS Broncos girls team made their way to West Valley High School to conclude the 2B District 6 tournament. The Broncos played Friday evening against Davenport for a chance to guarantee a spot at state and play for seeding Saturday.
MLCA/CCS
The Lions girls faced the Wilson Creek Devils in a third-place matchup Saturday afternoon to decide who goes to state.
MLHS
The MLHS Mavericks boys team fell on the road to West Valley on Thursday. The Mavs returned home Saturday to face Sunnyside in a matchup to decide who goes to state.
Royal
The Royal Knights boys team faced Zillah in a battle for first place in districts Friday evening. Both teams qualify for state.
The Knights girls played Zillah in the 1A District 6 championships on Friday evening. Both teams move on to state.
Warden
The Warden Cougars boys played Liberty Bell Saturday at Eastmont High School for seeding in the 2B state tournament.
Wilson Creek
The Wilson Creek Devils boys team played against Entiat on Friday afternoon in Wenatchee for the District 5 1B third-place matchup to keep their postseason alive.
The Devils’ girls team faced MLCA/CCS on Saturday afternoon for third place in District 5 1B and the winner got to move on to state.
