A toxic algae bloom may have been responsible for the death of a dog that went swimming at Crescent Bar.

QUINCY — People are being advised to avoid a section of the Crescent Bar shoreline between Trinidad Beach and Chinook Park after a dog died Aug. 26 from possible exposure to blue-green algae.
