Woman killed in collision near Warden
A woman was killed when she drove across the centerline and hit a car head-on about two miles south of Warden Monday evening.

WARDEN — A woman was killed when she crossed into the opposite lane and hit an oncoming car head-on about two miles south of Warden Monday evening.
Jessica Detweiler, 26, no address listed, was declared dead at the scene of the collision, according to a memo from the Washington State Patrol. Detweiler was driving north on SR 17 at about 6:40 p.m. when she crossed the centerline and hit a car driven by Karol Sanchez, 21, Othello.
Sanchez was airlifted to Kadlec Medical Center in Richland.
His vehicle came to rest on the southbound shoulder, and Detweiler’s vehicle on the northbound shoulder. The road was closed for about six hours.
It was the second collision in that area in two days. A Wenatchee man hit an oncoming vehicle head-on early Sunday morning.
Detweiler was not wearing a seatbelt, the WSP memo said. The case is still under investigation.
