Roadwork throughout region will cause traffic delays
GRAND COULEE — Travelers along SR 155 in the Grand Coulee area should be prepared for nighttime road closures this week.
Crews working for the Washington Department of Transportation will close SR 155 from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. beginning Monday and continuing through Saturday, according to a WDOT press release. The bridge will open for a few minutes at the top of each hour. Drivers should plan for delays of up to an hour, the release said.
Crews will return to daylight construction Aug. 24. Drivers can expect delays of up to 10 minutes in the daytime.
Construction will end for 2026 at the end of August, but crews will come back in spring 2027 to complete repairs.
Travelers heading to Kennewick this week should be prepared for delays on the Pioneer Memorial Bridge, known as the Blue Bridge. One of the southbound lanes will be closed, and flaggers will be controlling traffic on East Fourth Avenue in the project area.
Traffic restrictions will be in place from Monday through Thursday while crews replace “bearing pads” on the bridge north side. The pads support the bridge while allowing it to move and flex as temperatures change, and traffic increases and decreases, according to a WSDOT press release.
