NOTICE: ANNOUNCEMENT OF APPLICATION FOR COVERAGE UNDER A GENERAL PERMIT TO DISCHARGE TO STATE WATERS PERMITTEE: QUINCY FRUIT PACKING, LLC Quincy Fruit Packing, LLC has filed an application for coverage under the Fresh Fruit Packing National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System, State Waste Discharge General Permit (the general permit), in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 90.48 Revised Code of Washington, Chapter 173.226 Washington Administrative Code, and the Federal Water Pollution Control Act as amended. This coverage is for the discharge of cherry packing line and cherry hydrocooler water from the Big Red facility located at 2708 Second Ave. East, Quincy, Washington. The discharge will be approximately 48,000 gallons per day (gpd) to the Quincy Publicly Owned Treatment Works (POTW). There will be approximately 1800 gallons per day discharged to dust abatement from the cherry treatment area. All discharges to be in compliance with the Department of Ecology’s Water Quality Standards. TENTATIVE DETERMINATIONS Ecology proposes to issue coverage under the general permit to the above listed applicant to discharge to the POTW and to dust abatement, subject to certain effluent limitations and special permit conditions. These determinations are tentative. A final determination will not be made until all comments received pursuant to this notice have been evaluated. NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING PROPOSED CLOSURE OF BEEZLEY SPRINGS ELEMENTARY Beezley Springs Elementary has not operated as a traditional elementary school site since the end of the 1999/2000 school year. Students associated with Beezley Springs Elementary are enrolled under this designation for administrative purposes only. These students receive special education and related services from the district while attending private school in Ephrata or while participating in a home-based instruction program filed with the district. Notice is hereby given that the Board of Directors will hold a public hearing regarding the proposed closure of Beezley Springs Elementary during the regular school board meeting on Monday, April 27, 2026. The purpose of the public hearing is to receive testimony and community input regarding the proposed closure prior to board consideration and action. If approved by the Board of Directors, the proposed closure of Beezley Springs Elementary will be administrative in nature.
