One injured in Mattawa shooting
MATTAWA – The Mattawa Police Department is asking for the public’s help in the investigation of an incident that left an unidentified victim wounded.
The MPD and the Grant County Sheriff’s Office responded to a weapons-related call for service in the area of Fourth Street and South Portage Avenue at approximately 12:10 a.m. Monday morning, according to an MPD media release.
Upon arrival, officers located a victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The individual was transported to a regional hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Through the course of the investigation, officers determined this was an isolated incident and that there is no ongoing threat to the community, according to an MPD statement.
