Museum booth at UMANI Festival part of global day of play

MOSES LAKE – The Moses Lake Museum & Art Center announced its participation in the Our World: Worldwide Day of Play event this Saturday as part of the activities at its booth at the UMANI Festival. The festivities are set to run from noon to 6 p.m.  

“Children and families are invited to participate in this event and celebrate the people and cultures Las Americas, through various crafts, activities, and presentations. Enjoy traditional food and drink, music and dance, and toys and crafts. The museum will have all supplies on hand for participants to handmake their own traditional corn husk doll,” the announcement read.  

The Our World: Worldwide Day of Play is part of Nickelodeon’s Our World initiative, designed to inspire children and provide them with the tools to activate their personal agency. The local museum is part of a group of more than 360 Association of Children’s Museums member museums and more than 1,450 participating Museums for All institutions.  

ACM is a group of museums that work to enrich children’s lives through education opportunities and began in 1962, and Museums for All is a program managed by ACM.
