Othello man injured in collision near Royal City
ROYAL CITY — An Othello man was seriously injured when the car he was driving was hit by another driver Sept. 19, about 5 miles east of Royal City.
Brayan Castellanos Gomez, 20, was driving south on Dodson Road Southwest about 5:45 p.m. Friday when his car was hit by a pickup driven by Sercan Hepsener, 37, Kent, according to a media release from the Grant County Sheriff’s Office. Kyle Foreman, GCSO public information officer, said that Hepsener failed to stop at the intersection of Road 13 Southwest and Dodson Road Southwest.
Castellanos was airlifted to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland for treatment. Hepsener was not injured.
Each man was the only occupant of his vehicle.
Hepsener was towing a gooseneck flatbed loaded with bins of grapes; Road 13 SW was closed while the grapes were cleaned up.
