Ephrata releases findings following water leak incident

The city discovered the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition had logged a low reservoir alert; however, the copper landline used for communicating advisories was down and did not notify staff of the issue.

The leak, which was detected in the early morning hours, prompted a week-long precautionary boil water advisory for residents. The review was an analysis of what transpired, highlighting both successes and areas for improvement.
