Fire alarms but no fire at Moses Lake civic complex Friday
MOSES LAKE — An electrical interruption triggered fire alarms in Moses Lake municipal buildings Friday night, but didn’t cause any damage.
Brandon Burns, battalion chief for the Moses Lake Fire Department, said a partial power outage in the Grant County PUD lines serving the city complex at about 5:15 p.m. was followed by a delay in battery backups, which triggered the fire alarms.
Fire crews went through the Moses Lake Civic Center, Moses Lake Police Department and Civic Center Annex, Burns said, and found some smoke in the annex. There did not appear to be any damage, he said – the lights were all working when the power was turned back on.
