The reports below were provided by the Ephrata Police Department. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Aug. 25

10 Block G St NE

A resident reported a neighbor’s dog causing a disturbance on their property. Officers checked the area but found no dog or disturbance. The resident called again, but officers advised dispatch not to respond to further stray animal calls from this reporting party.

28 E, Soap Lake

Reporting party received a text suggesting someone might be inside their residence. Upon arrival, the witness believed an unknown suspect was in a bedroom. Officers cleared the home; no one was found. No surveillance cameras were available.

F St NW, Ephrata

Reporting party left their vehicle in a parking lot over the weekend. Upon returning, they discovered it was stolen. Surveillance footage showed an unknown suspect stealing the vehicle around 12:40 AM. The vehicle was last seen heading northbound toward Soap Lake. A stolen vehicle report was filed and an ATL (Attempt to Locate) was issued.

Reporting party reported people on rail cars. Investigation revealed they were Odessa Grain Co. employees.

Reporting party saw a man on her property via Ring camera. He arrived in a silver pickup with a trailer. Officers checked the house; everything appeared fine.

300 Block Mocliff Road

Reporting party reported her juvenile son was being disrespectful and left on foot. No crime occurred. Officers spoke with the juvenile about respectful behavior.

Reporting party saw a female suspect banging on windows and doors of her business. Officers located the suspect nearby, who retrieved her belongings and left. Reporting party did not wish to press charges.

1300 Block Nat Washington Way

Reporting party reported a theft involving a suspect leaving in a suburban. Suspect was gone on arrival. Reporting party provided a photo. Suspect was identified and probable cause established for Theft 3rd Degree.

Reporting party saw a suspect throw something into the fenced area. Suspect admitted to throwing a trash bag. Officers advised him not to do so again.

Aug. 28

C St NW

A transient individual was found sleeping under picnic tables. She apologized, cleaned up, and left voluntarily.

Basin St SW

Reporting party reported a driver nearly hitting the curb multiple times. Vehicle was last seen heading toward Soap Lake. Soap Lake PD was notified but unable to locate the suspect.

Basin St SW

An employee allegedly took $120 from a guest and claimed it was a mistake. He promised to return the money but has not returned since. Reporting party plans to terminate the employee and requested documentation.

A student attempted to leave campus. The parent was contacted, and the school handled the issue.

Reporting party reported that the subject was sending inappropriate messages and threats, violating a court order that limited communication to matters involving children.

Reporting party reported a male suspect bypassed checkout with a cart full of items. He abandoned the cart when confronted and left in a vehicle with a female passenger. Officers located the vehicle and spoke with the female, who was uncooperative.

SE Sector of Ephrata

Reporting party witnessed a road rage incident involving two vehicles registered in Quincy. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the vehicles. WSP was notified.
