Glen Williams water access to be closed for improvements
MARDON – The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) will temporarily close the Glen Williams Water Access Area on Potholes Reservoir beginning Sept. 8 to allow for planned improvements. The closure is expected to last through Oct. 23.
Nicole Jordan from Region 2 of the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife said the Glen Williams Water Access Area is located at the Southeast end of the Potholes Reservoir on the eastern edge of O’Sullivan Dam.
During this time, crews will complete several upgrades, including:
• Installation of new piles and floats
• Construction of a new asphalt parking lot with ADA-accessible parking
• Installation of a new kiosk and gate
Projects in or near water are strategically scheduled during periods of low water levels to provide shoreline access for construction. WDFW recognizes that this timing is inconvenient for some users and appreciates the public’s patience during the improvement process.
For your safety and the safety of construction crews, please follow all posted signage and use alternative launch sites during the closure.
