Fallen Basin lawmen honored at Olympia memorial
Visitors look for names of fallen officers at the Washington State Law Enforcement Memorial in Olympia. The name of Grant County Sheriff’s Deputy John Bernard, who died in 2010, can be seen. Also honored are four other officers from Grant and Adams counties.

Grant County Sheriff’s Deputy John Bernard was killed when his car rolled southwest of Ephrata in 2010. He was the first GCSO deputy to give his life in the line of duty.
