Othello employee recognized for 20 years

OTHELLO — Public Works employee Felipe Martinez received a plaque recognizing 20 years with the city Oct. 13.
“He’s moved up, and he’s learned an awful lot,” said Othello Mayor Shawn Logan when presenting Martinez with a plaque. “We’re very proud of Felipe and what he’s done for the city.”
Martinez went to work for the city as a maintenance worker in 2005 and has since become a lead in the city’s parks department. He’s also earned certification in aquatic center operation and certification as a flagger.
“He’s a reliable team member and a mentor to new staff,” Logan said. “He works hard for his city and his family.”
