MOSES LAKE — Nobody was injured in a fire in the Larson community Monday afternoon, according to Grant County Fire District 5 Chief Dan Smith.

Firefighters were dispatched to the residence in the 100 block of Shilling Drive at about 2:40 p.m., Smith said.

“We had it out in about an hour or so,” Smith said.

Firefighters from Moses Lake Fire Department assisted in putting out the fire, Smith said.

The cause of the blaze wasn’t known, but it appeared to have started outside the residence, Smith said. The occupant wasn’t home at the time, and emergency personnel were trying to reach him, he said.

The extent of the damage hadn’t been assessed Monday afternoon.

“The occupant will have to go through and see what’s savable,” Smith said.
