Power line sparks small fire near Moses Lake

MOSES LAKE — A downed power line sparked a small fire in the McConihe Flats area northwest of Moses Lake on Friday afternoon.
The fire, which started a little before 3 p.m., burned about 1/4 of an acre of vegetation, according to Grant County District 5 Battalion Chief Sean Killion. Six trucks responded, and the fire was out by 3:15, Killion said.
Nobody was injured, and no structures were damaged, Killion said. Sixty-six Grant Public Utility District customers lost power temporarily, according to a PUD announcement.
