OTHELLO – On Friday night, Adams County Sheriff’s deputies responded to two suspected DUI crashes.

The first, a single-vehicle collision in the 700 block of S. Reynolds Road in Othello. The driver, Omar Garcia-Teofilo, 30, suffered injuries and was transported to Othello Community Hospital for medical treatment.

A search warrant was obtained to collect blood evidence for suspected driving while under the influence.

While deputies were investigating this crash, ACSO deputies were dispatched to a second collision in the 600 block of S. Wagon Road in Othello.

The driver, Darinel Hernandez-Hernandez, was arrested on suspicion of driving while under the influence. He was later booked into jail.

“If you choose to drink, do so responsibly. Have a designated driver or plan a safe ride home,” reads the statement from ACSO. “Drinking and driving puts everyone at risk – including innocent members of our community.”
