TAKE3 to mix classical with rock Wednesday

MOSES LAKE — Classic rock will rub elbows with, well, classic classical music, Wednesday evening at the Wallenstien Theater.

TAKE3’s show “Where Rock Meets Bach” will mix Vivaldi with AC/DC and Bizet with Imagine Dragons, with visits from Billy Joel, Neil Diamond, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Ludwig von Beethoven, all played on piano, cello, guitar and electric violin.

“They’re so energetic and dynamic,” said Carla McKean, a board member with the Central Basin Community Concert Association, which is presenting the show. “The lead violinist came down into the audience. They did a really professional job.”

Representatives from CBCCA were treated to a short performance by TAKE3 at the Arts Northwest conference in Spokane last year. That’s where they select the performers to bring to Moses Lake the following year, McKean explained.

“(There were) three days of watching different groups entertain us, and they were by far our top choice,” McKean said. “We feel very lucky we were able to get them to come to Moses Lake.”

TAKE3 is the brainchild of violinist and singer Lindsay Deutsch, who previously toured with new age star Yanni around the world, according to the group’s promotional materials. Her music reached No. 1 on the Billboard charts as part of the soundtracks from the TV shows “The Witcher” and “All About Pam.”

The trio’s genre-bending repertoire will appeal to a varied audience, CBCCA Secretary Carol Bridges said.

“They performed some wild rock where they were running around the stage, and then they played some beautiful classical music in a very sophisticated manner,” Bridges said. They’re … joyful, enthusiastic, very contagious. They connect with their audience in such a way that you feel almost like they know you. They put their own style, their own flair, into what they play.”

This is the second concert in the CBCCA 2025-26 season. Tickets are $30 for adults or $10 for students, with special rates for families, music teachers and music students. Membership in the CBCCA includes admission to all five of this year’s performances and is $70 for adults, $60 for seniors, $40 for students. There are special membership rates available for families as well.

“People don't always understand that for $70 you can get these world-renowned musicians that you would pay a lot of money somewhere else to see,” Bridges said. “And if you're a senior, you can get five concerts for $60. It's amazing.”
