Mark Murray Wilson
Mark Murray Wilson, beloved father, grandfather, brother, son, husband and friend, passed away Aug. 18, 2025, at the age of 64. He was born Feb. 8, 1961, to Geraldine (Murray) and Jerry Wilson. Raised in Moses Lake, Mark was known for his adventurous spirit and his love for life. As a young man, he was a bit of a wild child who loved baseball and loved his friends, always exploring and making memories that would last a lifetime.
He married his junior high sweetheart, Lisa Gibson, in 1982, and together, they raised four daughters, Tiffany, Nichol, Courtney and Brittney. Throughout his life, family was at the heart of everything he did. He worked hard to provide for his family and was a proud and dedicated father.
In pursuit of a career that would allow him to build a secure future, Mark began working for Grant County PUD in 1985. He attended line school at Perry Technical Institute, where he completed the Electrical Technology program. He completed his apprenticeship and became a journeyman lineman and worked for the PUD for over three decades until he retired in June of 2021. He was on the poletop rescue team and competed in national competitions for many years. He was an active member and union representative for the IBEW Local 77 union. His commitment to his job and the community never wavered. His work ethic was a reflection of his character: steady, reliable, and always there when needed most.
In 1996, after his divorce, he met his wife Kimberley. They were married in 2000, and he gained two stepsons, Brandon and Troy. Mark and Kim shared a life filled with adventure, love, and laughter. They spent countless hours at the river, enjoying the water and the company of their friends. They loved to travel, especially to Mexico. He never knew a stranger and made friends everywhere he went. He loved the Mexican culture and people, and visited as often as he could.
Beyond his career and family life, Mark was an avid musician who always had a guitar in his arms. His love for music was a constant presence in his life, and he shared that passion with everyone around him. Whether strumming on his guitar or singing a song, he brought joy to those who had the privilege of hearing him play.
Mark was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Wilson;, his stepson, Brandon Washburn; his grandparents; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is survived by his wife Kim; his four daughters Tiffany (Michael) Valdez, Nichol (Marty) Alvarez, Courtney Wilson and Brittney (Daniel) Tebow; stepson Troy (Ashley) Washburn; mother Geraldine Wilson; sister Angela Wilson; 15 grandchildren; one great-grandson and three more great grandbabies on the way, as well as countless friends and extended family who will remember him for his kindness, his humor, and the music he shared with the world.
Mark hated the idea of a funeral, so a celebration of his life will be held Saturday, Oct. 11, at 1 p.m. at the Valdez home, 5549 Lorri Lane in Moses Lake. Our hope is that this will be a joyful celebration of a life well-lived!
