SLPD investigating GCSO corrections deputy for assault
SOAP LAKE – Off-duty Grant County Sheriff’s Office corrections deputy Nickolas Eifert was arrested for a fourth-degree assault – domestic violence charge, according to Soap Lake Police Department Chief Patrick Canady.
Eifert was booked into Chelan County Jail, Canady said.
Review of the inmate roster for Chelan County did not show Eifert as still being held Friday morning.
He has been placed on administrative leave while the police investigation is taking place. Once the investigation is complete, GCSO will have Clear Risk Solutions conduct an internal investigation into whether the agency policy was violated, according to a statement from GCSO.
“It’s the correct thing to do,” Canady said. “We will be handling the case because he is a county employee. We plan on doing a thorough investigation.”
Canady said he will have more information on the case the week of Oct. 6.
