GCSO recovers $20K tool for GCFD 5
MOSES LAKE — In August, Grant County Fire District 5’s fire station on Mae Valley Road was burglarized, according to Grant County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Kyle Foreman.
“During the burglary, the thieves took the $20,000 extrication tool off of one of the vehicles,” Foreman said. “Through other investigation that are being conducted by the Crime Reduction Team they came across the stolen extrication tool and were able to return it back to Fire District 5.”
The Crime Reduction Team is a three-man special unit at GCSO that focuses on criminal offenses and violations. The team focuses on proactive problem-solving in neighborhoods where standard patrol responses may be limited due to high call volumes, according to GCSO.
No arrests have been made regarding the burglary, as of yet, according to Foreman.
“We are not certain who the suspect, suspects are just yet, but the Crime Reduction Team is continuing its investigation,” Foreman said.
