Ephrata's annual leaf pick-up set for next week
EPHRATA – Next week, starting Nov. 17, Ephrata residents can have leaves picked up right off the curb of their house.
“This is something we do annually in coordination with Consolidated Disposal,” City Clerk Katie Kapalo said. “It gives an opportunity for the residents to get the leaves picked up and get their yard cleaned up before winter comes and before snow gets all gross with leaves mixed in.”
All leaf pick-ups will begin at around 7:30 a.m. Kapalo said residents need to place bags, filled with only leaves, on the curb just off the street. The city requests that the bags only contain leaves, excluding garden waste, garbage, and other non-leaf products.
The schedule is as follows:
Monday: Northeast part of town
Tuesday: Southeast part of town
Wednesday: Grandview and the northwest part of town
Thursday: Southwest part of town, Orchard VW and Swanson
“This is just an opportunity for people to have service at their door, instead of driving their leaves to the dump,” Kapalo said.
If Ephrata residents miss the free pick-up, the city shop will be collecting leaves until Nov. 26, Kapalo said.
