Community's help sought in finding at-risk Quincy man

UPDATE: The man was found just before 8:30 p.m. Wednesday evening.


QUINCY — The Grant County Sheriff’s Office and Quincy Police Department are seeking the public’s help in locating a man who left the Quincy Valley Medical Center at around 5:40 p.m. Wednesday evening. The man is not wanted for any crimes, but officers are concerned he may harm himself.  

“He was involved in a self-harm incident earlier. He was not an assault suspect and was not in police custody,” the GCSO announcement said.  

The man is 22 years of age, Hispanic, about five feet eight inches tall and weighs roughly 200 pounds. He was wearing a blue hospital gown at the time of his disappearance.  

Anyone who sees him or has information on his whereabouts is asked to call 9-1-1.  

Anyone considering self-harm can call or text 9-8-8 for assistance. Services are offered in English and Spanish and the line is always open.
