CONNELL — A Golden Valley, Arizona, woman was airlifted to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland after her car was hit about a mile north of Connell on Monday morning.

Cynthia Douglass, 68, was driving east on State Route 26 at about 7 a.m. when her car was hit by a car driven by Bryanda Gocobachi-Campos, 24, Kennewick, according to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol. Gocobachi-Campos crossed the centerline and hit Douglass’s car, the WSP memo said.

Douglass’s car ended up on the eastbound shoulder, and the Gocobachi-Campos vehicle came to rest in the middle of the roadway.

Gocobachi-Campos was charged with negligent driving, the WSP memo said.
