The reports below were provided by the sheriff's office or police department indicated. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.  

Ephrata PD 

May 8 

Report of stray dog located on Basin Street Northwest. Dog had a microchip and owner was contacted. Dog owner asked for dog to be placed back in the yard. Dog owner advised to get dog licensed and warned for dog running at large. 

May 9 

Report of husky running at large at St. Rose Lima School. Reporting party has called multiple times about the dog. Found dog owner via old Facebook posts. Dog owner was warned for dog running at large, no license and not having shots up to date. Dog owner said she would handle it. 

Report of weedwhacker theft at non-disclosed business. Reporting party said the suspect did not have the item when she walked into the store. Reporting party said suspect grabbed item, goes to customer service and “returns” it for cash. Reporting party said she had the receipt for the item. Suspect to be identified and charged.  

May 10 

Report of dangerous animal at Patrick Park. Through investigation, it was found the dogs unprovoked, charged at the victim and his dog. There was a puncture wound on the victim’s dog. Potentially dangerous dog forms given to dog owner. 

May 12 

Report of male subject taping money to window of business in 200 block of C Street Southwest. When the reporting party confronted the subject he said he was leaving a donation for the Children’s Miracle Network and then ran away. Reporting party just wanted strange behavior documented.  

Report of graffiti over the weekend in the Lions Park restroom. Photos taken of damage. 

Report of hit and run in 600 block of Basin Street Southwest. Reporting party said vehicle one backed into his and then stopped before leaving the scene. 

Report of graffiti on south side of building on Fifth Avenue Southwest on the corner of C Street Southwest. 

Report of male subject in the 300 block of E Street Northeast lighting something on fire. Male subject contacted and said he burned a photo of his ex-girlfriend. Male subject talked to about making better decisions. 

May 13

Report of disturbance in the 400 block of Ninth Avenue Southeast. Reporting party said the subjects were physically fighting and having party. Subjects contacted and probable cause established for fourth-degree assault – domestic violence. 

May 14 

Report of burglary at motel. Upon arrival the maintenance person had the subject on the side of the door. The suspect was screaming saying the maintenance man had sprayed him with pepper spray. Reporting party said the apartment should be empty. Charges filed for suspect for trespassing and the maintenance man for assault.  

Report of assault. Two juveniles got into a fight on playground and juvenile victim was punched in face. The fight started as rough housing and escalated.  

EPD dispatched to business on Nat Washington Way for a shoplifter in custody. Suspect had been previously trespassed. Suspect booked.

May 8 

Report of theft in progress at business on North Stratford Road. The suspect was in the toy aisle. 

Report of seven cattle trespassing and damaging reporting party’s property. 

Report of car vs. tractor collision. The car flipped over.  

Report of subjects setting up a homeless camp.  

Report of neighbor is burning tires and speeding in residential area. 

Report of Washington State Patrol trooper following a police impersonator. Requesting for backup.  

Report of vehicle fire. 

May 9 

Report of white Chevy on State Route 17 with possible DUI, erratic speeds, near collisions and drove off the road. The vehicle turned onto Airport Road.  

Report of chemicals for fruit trees stolen. Valued at around $12,000.  

Report of loose cow and a herd of goats. 

Report of fraudulent check for over $9,000 on Nov. 1, 2023.  

Two-vehicle collision in Beverly. Noninjury.  

Report of subjects racing up and down Airway Drive. Going up to 100 MPH.  

Report of deputy stopping driver going wrong way on road. The traffic stop was changed to DUI. 

May 10 

Report of vehicle running a stop sign and running into a ditch.  

Report of trespassers on road. Reporting party said they are trying to hide back there and possibly try to camp and live. Reporting party asked for them to be trespassed.  

Report of bull on side of the road. 

Report of dirt bike accident on Bureau of Land Management Land. GCSO sent EMS for the 36-year-old male.  

Report of 16 year old crashing dirt bike and has a broken leg. 

May 11 

Report of stolen white Volkswagen Jetta sports wagon. 

Report of possible break-in in Moses Lake where the reporting party’s medications were stolen. 

Report of loose brown horse in Ephrata on Road 9.6 Northwest. The horse was last seen near the ditch bank on Road 9 Northwest. 

May 12 

Report of missing vehicle in Moses Lake. Reporting party said the vehicle was a green Forest Terrace that was borrowed by a friend. 

Report of vehicle stolen last night. Reporting party said she thinks it is now in Spokane. 

Report of small dog running at large on road. Two cars drove away quickly, possibly abandoning dog. 

May 13 

Report of male subject showing knife to another customer. 

Report of vehicle rollover. No one in vehicle. Non-blocking. Into the field on it’s top. 

May 14 

Report of backpack stolen out of truck on McConnell Drive.  

Moses Lake PD 

May 10 

Report of subject trespassing and sleeping in customers car on West Broadway Avenue. Police arrived and detained the male subject. Subject was placed into custody for trespassing and an outstanding misdemeanor warrant. Subject transported and booked to Grant Co. Jail.  

Report of adult female punching juvenile on South Clover Drive. Suspect arrested for fourth-degree assault – domestic violence.  

Report of two subjects possibly breaking into storage unit on Kittelson Road Northeast. Subjects contacted and trespassed from business. Owner confirmed no units were burglarized. 

Report of theft in progress at business on North Stratford Road. Famel subject had motorized cart full of unpaid items. Subject passed all points of sale without paying. Subject loaded items in vehicle and drove off. Police located vehicle and placed the subject into custody. Stolen merchandise retrieved. Subject was previously trespassed.  

Report of mini-bike stolen on Northwest Sunburst Court. The chain of the lock was cut.  

May 11 

Report of female subject stealing goods from business on South Pioneer Way. Vehicle registration obtained. Subject gone on police arrival. Value of stolen goods around $50. Store wants to pursue charges and trespass if identified.  

Report of subject stealing baby belongings. MLPD used Blue Bridge card to cover cost of diapers, wipes, formula and bottles to get her by for a week or so. 

Report of two subjects setting up camp behind Japanese Gardens. Made contact with them and found no contact order between two. Male arrested without incident. 

Report of male peeing on building on East Wheeler Road. Subject trespassed from building. 

Report of MLPD assisting Quincy PD with taking driver into custody on First Avenue Southwest in Quincy. 

May 12 

Report of physical domestic on Grape Drive Northeast. Police arrived and developed probable cause to arrest the male subject. 

Report of vehicle prowl on West Wapato Drive. Reporting party said her window was shattered and an ID and insurance cards were taken. 

Report of student at Frontier Middle School in possession of marijuana and vape devices. SRO seized the smoking devices and logged them into MLPD. Student disciplined per school policy. 

Report of theft from business on South Wanapum Drive. Male subject stole homemade ramps for lawn mower. Reporting party wanted the ramps back and male to be trespassed.  

Report of vehicle stopped for the driver not wearing seatbelt on West Broadway Avenue. The driver was arrested for DUI. 

Report of several juveniles smoking in a vehicle in the parking lot of Moses Lake High School. Students escorted to principals office. Several students in possession of drugs. 

Report of female victim being hit in the face and having her purse stolen from her in the parking lot of business on East Broadway Avenue. Reporting party said the male subject came up and asked her for a cigarette, when reporting party said no and turned to pick up her phone that fell under her vehicle. The male subject punched her on the right side of her face and fled with her purse. Officers searched area and asked local businesses for video footage.  

Report of female subject selecting several items and leaving without paying at business on North Stratford Road. Report to follow for third-degree theft and female to be trespassed from business upon contact.  

Report of female suspect picking out several items at business on South Pioneer Way and leaving without paying. Suspect contacted on West Loop where some of the items were recovered. Suspect signed a MLPD trespass form. 

Report of package delivered to apartment on East Ninth Avenue. Package was gone when reporting party got home. Delivery company photographed package at door. No cameras in area.  

While MLPD was investigation a previous theft at business on South Pioneer Way. Business staff said there was another theft where a female had pushed out a cart with two case of soda that were not paid for. Female contacted in parking lot and she had left soda inside. Confirmed no theft however female had been trespassed from 2023 incident. Female was advise she was trespassed and signed a MLPD trespass form.  

May 13 

Report of video of some dogs killing a cat on North Dale Road. 

Report of vehicle prowl on North Grape Drive. Moses Lake High School Chromebook, backpack, work keys were taken. MLHS said because of budget cuts they were unable to track the laptop.
