BASIN EVENTS CALENDAR: May 16-24, 2025

COLUMBIA BASIN — It’s the merry, merry month of May and there are lots of ways to keep occupied in the Basin. Here are a few things happening this week:

May 16

Midnight in Soap Lake’ book signing

Meet author Matthew Sullivan and check out the recently released novel set in Soap Lake. 6 p.m. at the Lakeside Bistro, 14 Canna St. N., Soap Lake. Info: matthewjsullivan.com.

Open Mic Night

Generations Church Rummage Sale

May 17

Palisades Tractor Drive

Tractors must be able run 10 mph. Drive will be at least 30 miles on pavement and gravel with a few steep hills, so bring a lunch and lots of gas. Lunch will be at the schoolhouse. Touch a Truck

Bring the children and let them explore fire trucks, police cars and heavy equipment, plus music, activities and food vendors. The first hour is sensory-friendly with no flashing lights or loud sirens. Non-perishable food and cash will be collected for the Ephrata Food Bank. Happy Kids Festival Bouncy House Extravaganza

Check out and play on nearly 20 different deluxe bouncy houses, inflatable slides, and obstacle courses. Ukulele Jams

Ukulele jams allow you to learn or practice playing simple chords while singing along with instructor Jennifer McCarthy and other participants. Bring your instrument and desire to make music to the museum once a month and enjoy the benefits of singing and playing in a group. Don’t have a ukulele? MLCA Crab and Prime Rib Feed

Dinner, auction and entertainment. Proceeds support the Moses Lake Christian Academy/Covenant Christian School athletics program. $100 per person or $800 for a table. QHS Senior Recital

Senior music students from Quincy High School perform. Percussion ensemble, concert band, concert choir, symphonic choir and spectrum choir. Create & Cackle

Highlighters Art Club Western Art Showdown

Categories include painting, drawing, photography and mixed media. Entries must be the artist’s original work, ready to be displayed and not exceeding 42x62 inches. Tee Off for Tails
