Timothy Robert Hepner

| May 13, 2025 12:30 PM

Timothy Robert Hepner entered into the arms of the Savior he spent his entire life loving and serving March 2, 2025, at the age of 70. Tim was always so proud of the fact that he was born in Madison, S.D., on May 25, 1954, into a family of one brother and three sisters, Thomas, Trudy, Preta and Debbie.

When Tim was 12 years old, he and his family relocated to Washington State. Tim was 17 when he met and eventually married Susan Hepner. They enjoyed 41 years of marriage and raised their three daughters, Candice, Kristen and Tiffany. Their girls, and their sons-in-law, Matthew, Michael and Michael, were the couple’s source of pride and incredible joy for Tim and Sue. Eventually, Tim and Sue were blessed with six grandchildren, Timothy, Trace, Agezu, Teniel, Cooper and Mason. Their excellence in parenting their girls was only surpassed by their roles as “Grammy and Papa.” Their legacy of loving their family well will endure for generations.

Sue preceded Tim in finishing her race here on Earth, and eventually, Tim remarried Ruthie Ames in 2020. They enjoyed hiking together, good coffee, reading the Bible together and their shared love of their grandchildren. Tim and Ruthie had a faithful ministry of praying every day for their kids and grandkids, a ministry that we have all felt and appreciated more than we could ever say. Ruthie faithfully and admirably loved and supported Tim until he met Jesus.

Tim’s enduring legacy will be his devotion to Jesus above all, his selfless and faithful love for his family, and his ability to solve most any problem … usually with duct tape.

As Sue used to say, “You can take the boy out of South Dakota, but you can’t take the South Dakota out of the boy.”

Tim was a remarkable man whose generosity and service to countless people have made an eternal impact. While his family is certainly grieving, they are comforted by knowing that he is free from pain and has left a legacy and a path for his children and grandchildren to follow: “It’s all about Jesus.”

We love you, and we miss you, Dad!
