Grant County remains stable, Adams County and WA gas prices rise

MOSES LAKE — Grant County’s gas prices remained stable this week at an average of $4.28 as of May 12, the same price reported last week and three weeks ago. Two weeks ago, the county saw a slight increase of $0.02, but that has since reversed itself according to AAA. 

However, Adams County saw an uptick this week of $0.03 compared to the previous week, bringing the average cost up to $4.20, according to AAA. The county is back to the same price it was two weeks ago, but $0.52 cheaper than three weeks ago.  

Both Grant and Adams Counties remain in the middle of gas prices across the state. Wahkiakum County has the highest prices in the state this week at an average of $4.75. Asotin County has the lowest prices in the state with an average of $3.77, according to AAA. 

Washington state's average gas prices saw an increase this week of $0.02, bringing the average price to $4.28 as of May 12, according to AAA. As of a month ago, gas prices have decreased by $0.09 from an average of $4.37. As of a year ago, gas has decreased by $0.36 from an average of $4.64. 

Washington remains one of the top three most expensive places to purchase gas in the nation. Only California at $4.90 and Hawaii at $4.49 have higher prices in the nation, according to AAA. 

Nationally, the average went down slightly from $3.17 last week to $3.14 as of May 12, according to AAA. As of a month ago, gas is $0.06 cheaper nationally. As of one year ago, gas prices have decreased $0.48, with the average gas price sitting at $3.61 one year ago.
