Forrest A. 'Frosty' Reich

| May 13, 2025 12:56 PM

Forrest A. “Frosty” Reich, loving husband, father brother, uncle, grandpa and friend, went to be with his Lord and Savior on May 8, 2025, after a courageous battle with prostate cancer.

Forrest A. Reich was born July 18, 1948, to Vernon and Ardell Reich in Ontario, Ore. He was the middle of three children.

When Forrest, also known to many people as Frosty, was 3 years old, he moved to Moses Lake, Wash. Frosty grew up on the family farm.  He said he would rather farm than go to school. When he was 24, he took over the farming operation. In 2001, Frosty hung up his hat on farming. He took a job driving semi-trucks for Performix Nutrition Systems in Moses Lake. After several years of driving truck and supervising other drivers, he officially retired; however, Frosty continued to work for other farmers in the area, driving tractor, combine and truck. He loved doing this work.

Forrest met his first wife, Joanne (Cline) Reich, in 1972 in Hauser Lake, Idaho. They married Sept. 22, 1972.  In 1975 they welcomed their first daughter, Amy, and in 1979, their second daughter, Tia, was born.

Frosty’s first wife passed away in 2020.

In 2021, he met the new love of his life while spending the winter in Arizona. Frosty eventually won her over and Nov. 17, 2022, he said “I do” to Margaret (Peggy) Manley. Frosty and Peggy had many adventures together such as camping, a cruise to Alaska and spending their winters in Arizona.

Forrest will always be remembered for being kind, quiet, humble and honest. He would help anyone out and would give you the shirt off his back and then some. He practiced his faith by being of service to others.

Forrest is preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Ardell Reich, infant sister Carol, his wife, Joanne Reich, and sister-in-law Tricia Reich.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy Reich, his daughters, Amy (George) Ottmar, Moses Lake, and Tia Reich, Sequim, Wash.; stepchildren, Melissa Manley, Hindsville, Ark., and Tyrel Manley of Mitchell, Neb.; grandson Josh (Katelynn) Ottmar and great-granddaughter Maya of Moses Lake; sister Connie (Paul) Hemmert of Glendale, Ariz.; brother Glenn Reich of Moses Lake and several nieces and nephews.

We would like to express our deep gratitude for all the friends and family who have come to visit Frosty in the final months of his life and the help they provided. Frosty wanted to thank Gene Davis for being the very best of best friends. We would also like the friends he made at the Pioneer RV Park in Anthem, Ariz., to know just how special they were to him.

A celebration of life will be held Friday, May 16, 2025, at 1 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 1142 W. Ivy Ave., Moses Lake.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or Lupe’s Helping Hands Ministry, Lupe Hernandez, 509-989-4105.
