Lavish 31 opens in style
OTHELLO — Lavish 31 held a fashion show Friday evening to celebrate its opening and highlight the clothing lines the store carries.
“Owning a boutique has been something that I wanted to do for over 20 years,” said owner Amy Dominguez. “I kind of put it off to the side and recently we started dreaming about it again and we made the decision of doing it.”
The fashion show was held at 6 p.m. on the upper terrace of the store's building. People from around the Basin were invited to spectate or model.
“I was trying to think of what we could do to showcase all the different clothes because I think that you can pick one item and wear it several different ways,” said Dominguez.
The models showed off clothing items such as dresses, bags, risen jeans, trench coats and cozy items for women. A line of clothing for men is available at the shop from a local brand Seek Selective Company by Cain Muro, she said. Muro started his company late last year where he designs all the clothing and donates 15% of all profits to charity.
The show also featured offerings by Sassy Sodas, a soda shop toward the back of the store where customers can add whatever syrups and purees they want to a base and even create their own mocktails, she said.
“I just wanted to create a space where people not only shop, but come just to hang out too,” she said.
