Sharon Kay Davis
It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of Sharon Kay Davis at the age of 84. Sharon was born July 7, 1940, and passed away peacefully Saturday, April 5, 2025, surrounded by her family.
Sharon was the firstborn child of Howard G. Flanagan and Ruthe Irene Flanagan, and grew up in Sebeka, Minn., alongside her younger siblings, Dennis and Lois.
While in school Sharon played the trombone, sang in the girls’ choir, and was a member of FHA. She graduated in the top 5% of her high school class and earned a scholarship to the Swedish Hospital School of Nursing in Minneapolis. She graduated in 1961 and began her nursing career at Swedish Hospital. In 1962, she met her future husband, Michael Davis, and they were married in 1963. The couple lived in Minnesota until 1967, when they relocated to Moses Lake, Wash.
Sharon dedicated 42 years of service as a registered nurse at Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake, working in both the emergency department and labor and delivery. She touched countless lives through her care and compassion, particularly in labor and delivery, and retired in 2009. She truly loved her career and the people she cared for.
A devoted sports fan, Sharon rarely missed a Mariners, Seahawks or Gonzaga basketball game. She loved spending time with her friends at their monthly lunch meetings. More than anything, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought her immense joy.
Sharon is preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Ruthe, and her beloved husband, Michael.
She is survived by her brother, Dennis (Marion); sister Lois (Alvin); children Larry, Charlie, Michelle (Phillip), Howard (Lisa), Heather, Erik (Angel) and Aaron; grandchildren Berlyn (Josh), Jasmyne (Stephen), Keiley (Hunter), Shelby (Brittany), JR, Devin, Teegan, Skyla, Harper, Violet, Mei and Savannah; and great-grandchildren Drake, Paxton, Jonah, Sienna and a baby girl on the way.
Sharon was deeply loved and respected by all who knew her, and she will be greatly missed. A celebration of life will be held at Blue Rouge nursery Friday, May 30, from 6 to 8 p.m.
