Barbara Gallaway

| March 31, 2025 3:36 PM

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our angel of a mom, Barbara Gallaway, 77, of Moses Lake, Wash., on Monday, March 24, 2025. She loved deeply and fought hard. We are heartbroken, but we know now that she is no longer in pain and is at peace.

She was born June 18, 1947, in Renton, Wash. and was raised and educated in Moses Lake.

On Jan. 8, 1966, she married childhood sweetheart Michael Gallaway in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. The couple made their forever home in Moses Lake where Barbara found her professional calling as a librarian. She took great pride in establishing and growing “Baby Story Time,” where she was able to watch and help many children find the same enjoyment in books that she experienced.

However, the most important thing to Barbara has always been being the best wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter and sister that she could be.

She is survived by her three sons and daughters-in-law, Guy and Robin, Rick and Tasha, Mark and Tracy; six grandchildren, Stephanie (Travis), Dillon, Jackie, Courtney, Skyler, Sierra; five great-grandchildren, Saya, Avery, Emma, Robbie, Axton; mother Marty; sisters Brenda (Rod), Linda (Bob).

A graveside service of commemoration to celebrate the life of Barbara Gallaway will be held Friday, April 4, 2025, at 11 a.m. Interment will be in the Valley View Memorial Park in Soap Lake, Wash. (20174 Road A NE). At Barbara’s request, the casket will remain closed and there will be no viewing.

Nicoles Funeral Home, Ephrata, is in charge of the arrangements.
