Thomas Patrick Green

| March 26, 2025 1:42 PM

Thomas Patrick Green, 74, a cherished father, grandfather, brother and friend passed away peacefully March 9, 2025, with family by his side.

Tom was born Oct. 7, 1950, in San Francisco, Calif. He moved to Washington with his family when he was a young boy and grew up in the Royal Slope area, outside of Othello.

He attended Othello High School where he enjoyed playing basketball and running track. After he graduated in 1968, he went on to serve in Vietnam where he worked on Army helicopters. It was during that time that Tom found his passion to be an electrician. When he returned from Vietnam, Tom worked on farms and fields in the Columbia Basin servicing pumps and circles as an irrigation electrician.

In 1976, Tom married Kim Hilderbrand and later added to his family with his two boys, Jason and Tyler. Tom and Kim were generous with their time and gave to the local sports community where Tom coached youth baseball, basketball and soccer. He spent his free time camping, supporting Jason and Tyler in their activities, and spending time with family. Tom went on to open and run Green Electric for over 25 years, a business that reflected his hard work, expertise and love for the outdoors. He would continue working on farms around Moses Lake until he retired from Skone Irrigation in 2024.

Relationships were always important to Tom. Whether it was golfing, camping, playing pickleball, watching his beloved Seahawks or just sitting around the kitchen table talking; as long as he was with those he cared about, Tom was in his happy place.

Tom was known for his quiet but strong demeanor and kind heart. He was patient, generous and always willing to help those in need. He accepted everyone and never dismissed or passed judgment on anyone. He was the type of friend everyone wanted.

While Tom was a great friend to many people, he was an amazing father and grandfather (PopPop). His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his four grandchildren. He never missed a birthday, holiday or celebration and loved supporting his grandkids in their sporting events, school concerts and performances. He loved being a grandfather and, to his family, he was the best of the best! His presence in their lives will be greatly missed.

Tom is survived by his two sons and their spouses, Jason married to Tiffany, and Tyler married to Jaime. He also leaves behind four grandchildren: Zoey and Zander (Jason) and Averie and Declan (Tyler), and his sister- and brother-in-law, Anita and Doug Muscott.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Kim, and his parents, Thomas and Marie Green.

A celebration of Tom’s life will be held Friday, April 4 at 11 a.m. at Moses Lake Christian Church at 200 Yonezawa Blvd.
