MOSES LAKE — The annual Cellarbration for Education fundraising dinner March 15 brought in more money in 2025 than 2024. Cellarbration is the largest fundraiser for the scholarship fund of the Big Bend Community College Foundation.

“Preliminary numbers indicate that we raised a total of $257,800, reflecting an increase of $10,100 compared to last year,” wrote Director LeAnne Parton in answer to an email from the Columbia Basin Herald. “Thank you to everyone who contributed to this event.”

About 280 people attended the dinner, which featured a speech from Aldo Farias, soon to graduate from BBCC’s four-year applied science degree program.

“What seemed like just money to the (scholarship donors) was really the difference between struggling and succeeding for students like myself,” he said. “I hope that you all realize the impact your contributions have on students like me and the rest of us here at Big Bend.”
