BASIN GIRLS HOOPS SUMMARY

COULEE CITY — The Almira-Coulee/Hartline girls basketball team finished the 2024-25 season with a 58-45 loss to Sunnyside Christian in the second round of the Class 1B state basketball tournament. With the loss ACH just missed a trip to the Spokane Arena.  

The Warriors were the last Columbia Basin girls basketball team still in contention in state tournament play. Some schools finished their season in district play, while others made it to the opening rounds of the state tournament.  

ACH (15-12) 

The Warriors qualified for the second round of state play with a 58-22 win over Willapa Valley on Feb. 25 in the ACH gym. ACH finished third in the Northeast 1B South league with an 8-4 record. 

Lind-Ritzville-Sprague (14-9) 

The LRS girls finished their season in the third round of the District 6 tournament with a 44-42 loss to Colfax. The Broncos were second in the Northeast 2B league, finishing 7-4. 

Ephrata (0-21) 

The Tigers didn’t qualify for the Central Washington Athletic Conference tournament, finishing with a 0-16 league record. 

MLCA/CCS (13-9) 

Moses Lake Christian Academy/Covenant Christian School lost to Soap Lake 37-31 in the second round of the Central Washington 1B tournament, ending their season. The Lions finished in fourth place in league play with a 6-2 record. 

Moses Lake (7-14) 

Moses Lake qualified for the first round of the Big 9 tournament but lost 60-31 to Eastmont in a loser-out game. The Mavericks finished fifth in the Big 9 with a 3-8 record. 

Quincy (4-18) 

Quincy lost its first game in the CWAC tournament, 73-24 to Toppenish, finishing their season. It was the first year in the CWAC for the Jacks, who moved up to Class 2A from Class 1A in the current school year. Quincy finished with a 3-13 league record. 

Othello (7-14) 

The Huskies qualified for a play-in game in the CWAC tournament but lost a two-point game to East Valley (Yakima), 39-37. Othello was seventh in the CWAC with a 4-12 record. 

Royal (11-12) 

The Knights finished their season with two losses in the District 5 tournament. They were defeated 53-32 by South Central Athletic Conference opponent Cashmere, which dropped them into the consolation bracket. Their last game was a 46-35 loss to Cascade (Leavenworth) of the Caribou Trail League. 

Royal finished fifth in SCAC league play with an 8-8 record. 

Soap Lake (9-12)  

The Eagles made a run in the CW1B tournament, making it to the state qualifying game but losing 52-29 to Pateros. Soap Lake finished the season in fifth place in the CW1B league with a 3-5 record.  

Wahluke (0-21) 

The Warriors finished their season in early February, having failed to qualify for the district tournament. Wahluke was 0-16 in district play. 

Warden (6-16) 

The Cougars won their first Eastern Washington Athletic Conference tournament game, defeating Highland 67-12. Warden lost to White Swan, 52-30, and Kittitas, 43-41, to be eliminated from league tournament play. The Cougars finished with a 4-6 league record. 

Wilson Creek (13-9) 

Qualifying for state play was tough in the CW1B league in 2024-25, with only two teams from the league advancing. Wilson Creek ended its season with a 27-20 loss to Soap Lake in the fourth round of district play, one game short of the state qualifying game. The Devils were third in the CW1B league, finishing the season 5-1.
