OTHELLO – Monday afternoon at around 3 p.m., the Adams County Sheriff’s Office received a call saying two suspicious males were near the reporting party’s residence in the 800 block of S. Taylor Road in Othello. The deputies arrived on scene and made contact with a vehicle. While deputies were attempting contact with the two men, one of them took off running to a nearby field.

Deputies later learned the male who ran off was Roberto Faustino Ramirez, 25, of Othello. Deputies had probable cause to arrest Faustino Ramirez because he was suspected of theft of a motor vehicle Sunday.

Deputies set up containment with the assistance of Othello Police Department officers. Othello PD assisted with searching the area by drone.

Faustino Ramirez was located in the field and fled on foot once more. Faustino Ramirez was then safely taken into custody without incident after the foot pursuit. He was booked into jail for suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, resisting arrest and three outstanding warrants. The warrants included third-degree possession of stolen property, fourth-degree assault and vehicle prowling.
