Area districts respond to OSPI immigration guidelines
Othello School District Superintendent Pete Perez said there has been a lot of confusion surrounding immigration within the district since the executive order which allows for Immigration and Customs Enforcement ability to enforce immigration laws in schools, hospitals and places of worship, places that previously were off-limits. Other area districts echoed Perez's commitment to following law and procedure.

OLYMPIA — The Washington State Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction released guidelines in January outlining practices it said are to ensure the protection of immigrant students' rights in K-12 public schools.
